About The Event
Looking for families that have ancestors that are buried here or have a connection here at Mountain Baptist Chruch. Mr. George W. Ashby deeded the property to the people to have a religious structure in 1856. The church was organized with six members in 1857. Dedicated in 1858 with thirteen members. Our oldest tombstone is Henry Lloyd died in 1873. Oldest rock date is A.J Bolden died 1881. If you are a descendant or family member, come and maybe you'll find a distant relative. This yard party will be a freewill offering, and the proceeds will go toward cleaning and fixing the tombstones.
